Senedd Hustings

There's lots at stake for the rural community in the 6 May election: the greatest change in agriculture seen in a generation, likely proposals on increasing public access to the countryside and further details on reducing greenhouse gas emissions. We can’t, of course, forget plans to re-start the economy post Covid 19, which has affected our rural communities.

The result of this election will determine the next Welsh Government for 5 years.

Remember, devolution means that the Welsh Government is responsible for most policy areas that affect us in the countryside: agriculture, the economy, natural resource management, vital infrastructure, business tax and possible other taxes too.

In this online hustings event, we are joined by spokespeople from the main political parties in Wales – Eluned Morgan MS (Welsh Government Minister), Jane Dodds (Leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats), Janet Finch-Saunders MS (Welsh Conservative's spokesperson on Rural Affairs), Llyr Gruffydd MS (Plaid Cymru's, spokesperson on Rural Affairs) and Emily Durrant (Green Party candidate for Brecon and Radnorshire and regional candidate for Mid and West Wales).

You too can put questions to the panel of representatives in what will inevitably be a lively and fascinating debate.
