The CLA breakfast at this year’s County Show will focus on rural crime, with a talk from John Campbell, the recently appointed Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police. Rural crime is a considerable blight on the lives of many in the county – but the CLA and the Police are working hard to tackle the many issues and make a difference.
The CLA recently published a ‘rural crime document’, as part of our ongoing efforts to focus attention on the issue. The document is based on an analysis of how different police forces tackle rural crime across England and Wales, with the aim of promoting best practice and sharing ways of working.
Thames Valley Police is already doing many positive things when it comes to fighting rural crime, and CC Campbell will be updating members on its latest projects and initiatives.
