The Scrivelsby Estate is one of the oldest continuously occupied estates in England. The current day 3,350 acre estate includes 400 acres of permanent pasture, 150 acres is woodland, and a tenant farm of 135 acres, with the remaining area being in-hand arable farmland. The estate’s farm has Environmental Stewardship at the higher level, while the woodland has benefited from its inclusion in the Forestry Commission’s Woodland Grant Scheme. The estate’s green credentials have been reinforced with an anaerobic digester and solar panels on South facing roofs. A new farmyard has been built in the centre of the estate, giving the opportunity to follow on with converting redundant farm yards to residential lettings.
The Hall was demolished in the 1950’s leaving an Elizabethan gate house to become the main residence, situated in the middle of a deer park. The Humphry Repton designed Walled Garden has survived and has become a popular Wedding Venue, where this year’s AGM will be held.
