CLA Midlands: Derbyshire AGM and Visit to Nestlé Waters

The theme for Derbyshire AGM is promoting growth in the rural economy and the day is centred on Buxton’s heritage as a spa town.

The day will include a visit to Nestle Buxton Waters for a tour of the factory and bottling facility, AGM meeting and late lunch at The Devonshire Dome with the day concluding at the Pump Room.

This year's Derbyshire AGM and visit will begin at Nestlé Waters as we are given the exclusive opportunity to tour the factory and find out about their sustainability practices. We tour the bottling facility as well as hear about their commitment to renewable energy and sustainable practices and their work on improving water stewardship. In addition, the factory focuses on driving growth in the rural economy and has many community projects to raise the profile of Buxton.

After visiting Nestlé we will travel to the magnificent Devonshire Dome for afternoon tea where Chatsworth Archivist will provide history on the
Grade II listed Devonshire Dome famed for being the largest unsupported dome in Europe.

After hearing about the history of the dome and its construction the day will continue at the Grade II listed Pump House. The Pump House is operated by Buxton Crescent & Thermal Spa Heritage Trust and is situated opposite the Grade I listed Crescent Hotel where members will be given a talk on the Crescent Hotel project.
