CLA East- Future-proofing with Miscanthus

The business case for the perennial energy crop miscanthus continues to strengthen due to the attractive long-term contracts available and secure markets for the crop.

At this free farm walk and tour the CLA has teamed up with miscanthus supply chain specialists Terravesta to provide insight into the benefits of growing a crop which is an increasingly popular diversification option

You will meet Lincolnshire grower Colin Chappell who manages 647 hectares of land along the River Ancholme in Brigg and grows 26 hectares of miscanthus on unproductive fields.

Colin, who is an Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) Monitor Farmer, supplies Terravesta with whole bales which fuel Brigg Renewable Energy Plant, under a mile away from his farm, on a long-term contract.

This event will include a complimentary full English breakfast on arrival.
