We are pleased to welcome Sir Jim Paice, Chairman of the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust, as our guest speaker for the evening.
The GWCT is a national charity conducting conservation science to enhance the British countryside for public benefit. For more than 80 years, it has been researching and developing game and wildlife management techniques. It uses its research to provide training and advice on how best to improve the biodiversity of the countryside. Sir Jim Paice became Chairman of the GWCT in July 2018, having served 28 years as MP for South East Cambridgeshire before retiring in 2015. He is a born and bred countryman, a "keen if not good" shot and is passionate about defending rural interests.
