CLA South East - The Kent Debate: The Future of Farming

With the UK moving ever closer to leaving the European Union, what does it all mean for the future of farming? What are the opportunities and challenges? What about labour supply, payments and subsidies, trade agreements, animal welfare?

All eyes will be on Brexit over the next few months, but what will the longer-term impact be on farming and the rural economy? Speakers including Susan Twining, Chief Land Use Policy Adviser for the CLA; William Gildea, Campaigns and Policy Officer for the Vegan Society; Professor Mario Caccamo, Managing Director of NIAB EMR; Kevin Attwood, Kent farmer and CLA member; and representative from our sponsors, Brachers LLP and Savills, will examine the many challenges and opportunities ahead. The Debate will be chaired by CLA Kent Chairman Gary Walters.
